Yeah, yeah, this is getting pretty old school. The movie Armegeddon from 1998 wasn't an intellectual drama and not particularly memorable. In fact, I'm not sure I really remember the plot. I don't think it really matters, but it had something to do with NASA hiring a bunch of oil well drillers to go into space to do something implausable. It was a Michael Bay film so it had lots of action and starred Bruce Willis, Ben Afleck, Billy Bob Thornton, Owen Wilson, and others. It was generally critically panned, but it somehow did better at the box office than Saving Private Ryan in 1998.
But to the car stuff. A scene in the movie, Ben Affleck and Owen Wilson are supposed to be working on this hi-tech space drilling rig. On the table in front of them, was a Kenne Bell supercharger, shorty headers, a hurst shift, and a billet crank shaft. All 5.0 Mustang parts. So we are to assume that the plan to save the world involved a supercharged 5.0 with a T5 manual transmission.
My guess is that who ever was ordering the props for the movie wanted new parts for his Fox Body. Once the filming was complete, who'd miss them?
